  • National Chocolate Ice Cream Day
Did I eat this already this morning? No. Is gelato considered ice cream? I don’t know the answer to this question, but I did get a little excited for today and ate some of this triple chocolate gelato last night and it was delicious. I’ll have more tonight for sure.More
  • National Strawberries and Cream Day
Initially I was going to skip today because I can’t say that Strawberries and Cream get me as excited as Chocolate Covered Strawberries would, however, Chris saw that I hat it on my calendar and bought strawberries and Heavy Whipping Cream. Heavy Whipping Cream? Not Reddi Whip? Well, he said it would be easy to make our own Cream, so he used the recipe on the side of the Heavy Whipping Cream container and made homemade Cream. It was actually very delicious and I’m glad we didn’t skip todays National celebration.More
  • National Chocolate Chip Day
So we made chocolate chip cookies! Easy peasy and delicious 😋 I went to a brunch today and took some with me, too!More
  • National Apple Pie Day
Okay, I know, I know. It’s not an Apple pie, but it is an Apple streusel. As much as Chris loves Apple pie, he also knows that if we got an Apple pie, I’d eat one piece and he would be left to eat the rest. He saw these Apple streusels in the frozen section at Aldi and we decided to try them out. The were actually rather delicious. Way to go, Aldi!More
  • National Butterscotch Brownie Day
I sent Chris the recipe to make these brownies while I nursed Joey for bed. When I asked him what made them taste like butterscotch since the recipe called for ingredients that we had in our pantry, and we don’t have butterscotch in our pantry. He said, ‘I don’t know. Maybe it’s the stick and a half of butter I had to use or the three cups of brown sugar!’ They are not a low calorie dessert.More
  • National Orange Juice Day
I typically drink just a splash of orange juice in a large glass of champagne, but being that I cannot drink alcohol at 12-weeks pregnant, a tall glass of virgin OJ will do!More
  • National Shrimp Scampi Day
I may or may not have been excited about todays deliciousness that we were going to have for dinner. The combination of not thinking about what we were going to have for dinner and knowing that it would be something I’d like made for a delicious and enjoyable dinner… at least for one of us. Chris wasn’t a fan.More
  • National Pretzel Day
Typically we would have bought a bag of pretzels from the store and called it a night, but since it was date night and I remembered that Primanti’s has giant pretzels, we opted to order an appetizer. That being said, I barely had any room for my dinner because this pretzel was very filling!More
  • National Garlic Day
What better way to celebrate than by going to Olive Garden. After we ate our garlic breadsticks and delicious soups (3 bowls each) Chris had lasagna while I indulged in, of course, shrimp fettuccini alfredo. 😋More
  • National Animal Cracker Day
‘Animal crackers in my soup. Monkeys and rabbits loop the loop!’ No, we did not eat our animal crackers in soup, just as a pre-dessert (because yesterday was Easter and we have some yummy chocolate to eat, too!)More
